Kraków Girl was born out of nothing. I've been photographing Ula for seven years now, and every session brings a different result, always positive, yet always fresh and inventive. This time, I drew inspiration from nighttime in Kraków, particularly in Kazimierz, where the lights burn brighter and the atmosphere feels heavy, almost sacred. The words that stayed with me throughout this last session were a line from Leonard Cohen's "You Want It Darker": "I struggled with some demons, they were middle-class and tame."
